When to Seek Medical Attention: Recognizing Emergency Symptoms

Seek immediate medical help if you experience:

Severe difficulty breathing or wheezing that doesn’t improve after using your Proventil HFA inhaler. This includes feeling breathless even at rest or needing to use your inhaler more frequently than prescribed.

Chest tightness or pain that worsens, especially with rapid or laboured breathing. Note any accompanying symptoms like dizziness or lightheadedness.

A rapid or irregular heartbeat following inhaler use. Pay attention to its speed and consistency.

Increased anxiety or nervousness, accompanied by trembling or sweating. This could indicate an adverse reaction.

Symptoms that persist or worsen despite using your Proventil HFA inhaler as directed. Don’t wait for symptoms to resolve on their own–seek help if they don’t improve.
