Apply a thin layer of Bactroban nasal ointment inside each nostril twice daily, morning and evening. Use approximately 0.5cm (approximately the length of a pea) for each nostril.
Continue using Bactroban as directed by your doctor. Typically, treatment lasts for 5-10 days for staphylococcal infections. Your doctor will determine the appropriate treatment length based on your individual condition. Don’t stop treatment early, even if symptoms improve. Complete the full course to ensure the infection clears completely.
If your symptoms persist or worsen after 5-10 days of using Bactroban, contact your doctor immediately. They may need to adjust your treatment plan. Don’t exceed the recommended dosage without consulting a physician. Improper use can reduce efficacy or cause unwanted side effects.
