Always follow your doctor’s instructions. Dosage depends on the infection’s severity, your weight, and age. Self-medicating is dangerous; consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
Adults (12 years and older)
The typical dose is one 1000mg tablet twice daily. For more severe infections, your doctor may prescribe a higher dose, possibly up to 1500mg twice daily. Complete the entire course of antibiotics, even if you feel better sooner; stopping early may lead to recurring infection.
Children (under 12 years)
Augmentin Duo Forte tablets are generally not suitable for children under 12. Your doctor will prescribe a different formulation of amoxicillin/clavulanate, appropriate for your child’s age and weight. They will carefully calculate the correct dose based on your child’s specific needs. Never administer adult medication to children. Always use the correct measuring device for liquid formulations if prescribed.
Important Note
Possible side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and rash. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience a severe allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue). Inform your doctor about any allergies or existing medical conditions before taking Augmentin Duo Forte.
