Budesonide Inhaler: How to Use

First, check your inhaler’s counter to ensure you have doses remaining. Shake the inhaler well before each use. Next, remove the cap.

Preparing for Inhalation

Breathe out completely. Hold the inhaler upright, placing your mouthpiece between your teeth and closing your lips tightly around it. Begin a slow, deep breath. As you inhale slowly and deeply, press down on the inhaler to release a puff of medicine. Continue inhaling deeply. Hold your breath for at least 10 seconds to allow the medication to settle in your lungs. Then, slowly exhale.

After Inhalation

Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out, or brush your teeth to prevent thrush. Replace the cap on your inhaler. If you’re using a spacer, follow the spacer’s instructions. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns. Remember to always follow your prescribed dosage and schedule.

Using a Spacer

Attach the spacer to your inhaler. Follow the same steps as above, inhaling deeply through the spacer. This helps deliver the medicine more effectively to your lungs.
