Storage and Handling of Doxycycline for Cats

Keep doxycycline tablets in a tightly closed container at room temperature, between 68°F and 77°F (20°C and 25°C). Avoid extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and damp conditions. Proper storage ensures the medicine’s potency.

Always wash your hands before and after handling the medication. Use a clean, dry spoon or measuring device to administer the correct dose to your cat. Never use more than prescribed by your veterinarian.

Store the medication out of reach of children and pets. If accidental ingestion occurs, contact your veterinarian or a poison control center immediately. Be sure to dispose of any leftover medication responsibly. Check with your local pharmacy or veterinarian for appropriate disposal methods.

Observe your cat for any adverse reactions after administering doxycycline. These might include vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite. Contact your veterinarian promptly if you notice anything unusual.

Ensure the medication is dispensed in a child-resistant container if you have young children in your household. A secure storage location, such as a high shelf in a locked cabinet, is recommended.
