Nose bleeds from accutane

Experiencing nosebleeds while taking Accutane? Dryness is a common side effect, often leading to this problem. Keep a humidifier running near your bed and use a saline nasal spray several times daily to combat dryness and reduce your risk.

Beyond simple hydration, consider gentle nasal moisturizing ointments. Petroleum jelly or lanolin-based products can create a protective barrier and prevent further irritation. Apply a small amount to the inside of your nostrils before bed. Remember, consistency is key.

Severe nosebleeds, however, demand immediate attention. If bleeding is profuse or lasts longer than 15-20 minutes, despite applying pressure, seek medical advice. Your dermatologist or primary care physician can assess the situation and rule out other potential causes.
