Heat rash, or prickly heat, presents differently than Accutane side effects. Look for small, red bumps, often appearing in clusters. These bumps may be itchy or feel prickly. They commonly appear on areas covered by clothing, like your back, chest, or neck, and are usually found on skin folds where sweat is trapped.
Locations and Appearance
Unlike Accutane’s dryness or acne, heat rash is primarily characterized by its location–areas prone to sweating and friction–and appearance–small, clustered bumps. The bumps are typically red, but the skin surrounding them may not be inflamed. The rash itself usually isn’t painful, although the itching can be bothersome.
Differentiating from Accutane Side Effects
If you experience dryness, peeling, or significant inflammation alongside the rash, this might be a different issue and warrants a doctor’s visit. Remember to consistently report any changes in your skin condition to your dermatologist while on Accutane.
